US dollar mostly lower in Europe

The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Friday morning. Gold rose.

The euro traded at $1.4101, up from $1.3951 late Thursday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_107.41 Japanese yen, up from 106.73

_1.1354 Swiss francs, down from 1.1393

_1.0686 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0779

The British pound was quoted at $1.7704, up from $1.7528.

Gold traded in London at $757.50 per troy ounce, up from $740.75 late Thursday.
