US dollar mixed in Europe

The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold rose.

The euro traded at $1.4191, down from $1.4196 late Monday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_104.53 Japanese yen, down from 105.76

_1.1131 Swiss francs, down from 1.1191

_1.0723 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0688

The British pound was quoted at $1.7863, down from $1.7902.

Gold traded in London at $779.75 per troy ounce, up from $775.00 late Monday.
