The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.3679, up from $1.3645 late Tuesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York on Wednesday, the euro fetched $1.3680.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 99.693 Japanese yen, down from 101.71; 1.1269 Swiss francs, down from 1.1378; and 1.1228 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1058.
The British pound was quoted at $1.7297, down from $1.7510.
In midday New York trading, the dollar bought 99.44 yen and 1.1260 francs, while the pound was worth $1.7260.
Gold traded in London at $903.50 per troy ounce, up from $876.75 late Tuesday.
