US dollar mostly higher in European trading

The U.S. dollar was mostly higher against other major currencies in European trading Thursday. Gold fell.

The euro traded at $1.3623, down from $1.3691 late Wednesday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_99.788 Japanese yen, down from 100.56

_1.1283 Swiss francs, up from 1.1269

_1.1459 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1228

The British pound was quoted at $1.7133, down from $1.7256.

Gold traded in London at $883.50 per troy ounce, down from $903.50 late Wednesday.
