This was another part of my sister's Christmas gift that she had said that she really wanted. She had one picked out at Target, but after reading the reviews bothe on this site and Target's site I knew that I couldn't get her the exact one that she had picke out. I am very particular about my purchases. I will look at reviews from several websites before making any purchase. This item was used as part of her gift that fell under the free shipping and had some very good reviews. When she opened her gift and saw that she got 3 items that she really wanted she was happy!! I told here that I didn't get the first one she had choosen due to it's reviews. Then I told her about how this one had great reviews (and I pointed out the o-ring that she needs to make sure that doesn't get lost when washing, something that I also learned from several other product reviews). She was very happy!! Now she can make her own oil sprays (and save $$).

Love the Misto sprayer. I've been using a regular spray bottle for olive oil for years. What was I thinking? I need to get another one for balsamic vinegar. Have had no problem with its misting so far. Great purchase.

I purchased one of these sprayers because my dad has one and loves it. I've found that I used it a lot and it's a lot less messy than pulling out a bottle of olive oil and dripping it all over the place. The only one thing that I don't like about it (and the reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5) is that it tends to change between a direct stream of olive oil to a mist and then back again. This may be a user error, but I can't figure out what I might be doing wrong. Either way, I'm still glad to have this gadget as part of my kitchen.

Have had this item for a month or so. I don't bother to "release" the pressure (discussed in the instructions for it) and I do only fill part ways. If I get clogging I will come back and post my sins in a later update.
I only fill about 10-20% not only because they instruct you to, but I don't use enough.. the oil has a tendency to get "randy".. that is to have a slightly "off" taste.. if you don't use it fairly quickly ...this is not a problem with the sprayer.. just that oils "oxidize" in the open air. I wash it after each "emptying".. they suggest you wash them every 3 months or so, so this works out nicely.
I bought two, one for olive oil and one for "salad oil" (whatever vegetable oil you like). The oil sprays nicely.. I thought it would be more of a stream, but it is atomized pretty evenly over the area.
The only negative I had is that I knocked it off the shelf onto the stove (about 3 ft drop) and it dented a bit. This is due to the aluminum which is QUITE SOFT. They offer a STAINLESS STEEL version of this same pump which may be considerably stiffer, but it is considerably more expensive.

I love my Misto. But I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten good results if I hadn't followed the tips shared by other reviewers (including to underfill, etc.). Thanks!
I see they've lowered the price on Amazon now...it used to be over $20.
