The Columbia Women's Packus Ridge Omni-Tech Hiking Boots have waterproof breathable membranes that keep your feet dry when you hike in rain or splash through a stream. Plus these membranes let your sweat vapors escape. A contoured footbed and cushy midsole give you support and absorb shock so you can hike longer. A nylon shank in the midsole provides torsional rigidity and additional support for uneven terrain. The rubber outsole grips dirt, mud, and rocks to keep you upright.

I got a pair when they were on sale. Overall they are well-made and look pretty strong. I went on hiking a few times with the boot and found that it was ok for the purpose.
My complain is that the boots are not wide enough. I have a medium wide feet and they felt a little tight. Not so much that I can't wear them but I think they will feel tight on a long hiking.
The sole is pretty thick and strong enough for rough terrain.
Overall, they are well worth the sale price.

This is a nice pair of boots, they are comfortable to wear and stays with your feet closely when you walk on rough surfaces. They are pretty light too, making your lower legs less exhausted after you hike for hours.
The only drawback I can think of is the temperature in the shoe gets a bit too warm in daily use. I felt my feet overheaded somehow which is not a very happy experience.

I purchased this hiker on sale at a steal of a price. It is a perfect fit, very comfortable, and very well made.It performs well for me in the mountains where I hike off trail. The waterproofing seems to perfom well, although I always spray some additional on that contains a stain inhibitor.I would definitely buy this boot again.

I've just come back from a mountain hike and the boots performed very well. Though they're not designed for very cold conditions, they were warm enough to walk through the snow and they didn't get wet inside either. The soil is fair enough, but don't expect it to get stick in wet rock nor ice ;-)
An exceptional purchase for the price I paid!

I found the boot to be a comfortable fit with decent support. Its not waterproof, but does offer some protection. It seems well made. I use the boot mostly for hiking and walking my dog in woods/fields, and haven't had any problems with it.
I would say get this boot for light hiking. If you are going through a lot of mud or creaks or dense brush then this isn't the shoe for you.
