I thought the mini-series was great and was disappointed to find it out it wasn't a series! But this first season has been great. I love the actors and the story lines. The execution has been excellent. Looking forward to adding the first season dvd to my collection for reviewing.
Think "Scrubs" for middle aged (or married) women

Ok, yes -- depending on your sense of humour, this show is good for a wider variety of people than I've stated.
You know how in Scrubs there are always these cuts into imagination? Where the character imagines something different than what is happening? There is some of that in every episode of the Starter Wife. It's brilliant!
Technical, the make-up is excellent (for those imagination scenes.) And there is not all that loud background music to create the mood. It's all subtle, and it works.
The main character, Molly, is a mostly believable stressed-out and intelligent woman. This series season is about her writing the "Wife Goes On" script, about her dealings with Kenny (the ex) after he left her for a young pop star.
I don't wish to write too much about WHAT happens, but I can tell you it is genuinely funny.
