Today some doctors are recommending human growth hormones (HGH). Although these treatments, relatively new, can have side effects and the long term risks are unknown, they are becoming popular with some kids to narrow the gap between them and their taller peers, in part to boost not only their height, but their self esteem. The shots are expensive, costing upwards of $30,000 a year. ABC News follows two teenagers and their parents for two years to see if the years of shots and testing by doctors is really worth it.
